I have a server running access 97 and 2002. When users
are trying to run an access 97 db they get the
error, "Microsoft Access cannot be started. Microsoft
Access was unable to initialize windows registry. Rerun
Microsoft Access or Microsoft Office setup to reinstall
Microsoft Access."

I saw someone else with similar post, but no replies. Has
anyone found or heard of a solution to this?

Thanks much,
Steve

Find and make a backup copy of MSACESS.SRG.

Delete contents of MSACESS.SRG.

A97 will still try to re-register after you
have run A2K2, but with this file empty, registration
will not make any changes to the registry.

Thanks to both of you! Tried David's solution and so far
so good.
